I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!

Mother Nature must love me! It was warm enough again this weekend for another trip to the cabin. The end of November and we're still up there. It had snowed a little bit this week and it was colder than last weekend, but still super fun! I hope Santa loves me as much this year! This is a picture of Uncle Nolan and me trying to decide what we're going to do while we're here. Of course we had to play with some toys - always activity #1.
I figured a game of hide and seek was in order as well.Eating was activity #2 and then I decided it was time for activity #3 - the ever popular hike! Come on guys, let's get moving. Here's mom and baby Sam on our hike. And here are the three men. Truth be told, I almost preferred playing in the snow to walking in it today!
We found these tracks while we were hiking. They're not Copper's - he didn't get to come today. Daddy says a "cat" (bobcat) made them - hum . . . meow?

Here's dad and me just hanging - wishing the day wouldn't go by so fast.

Activity #4 - more eating. Activity #5 - a nap. So peaceful . . . . Another great cabin day!Today we did some Christmas decorating. We put up our little tree. I got to hang all of the ornaments all by myself. And here is Samuel and me - just hanging out and having fun.Sam Alert: Howdy - here's an update from me. I'm growing up and doing new things every day. I found my vocal cords this week and am really giving them a workout to see what they can do. Mom and dad say that I'm practicing a little too much, but I guess that's all relative. I'm finally getting used to eating solid foods. In fact, the parents introduced me to Ziewback toast this week, and I'm loving it! I also loved my hike at the cabin. I slept through the hike last week, so it was good to get out and breathe some fresh air yesterday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope everyone had a great Turkey Day! We sure did! Mom spent the morning in the kitchen cooking and daddy tried to keep us entertained. Dad told us both that we had to take early naps today or Uncle Nolan and Aunt Christy couldn't come over. So we obediently followed instructions and as a result. . . slept through dinner entirely. (Mom and dad say they can't remember such a peaceful meal . . . wonder what they mean by that?)

So after we both woke up, sure enough - our guests had arrived, dinner had been served, and the table was already cleaned up. Fortunately they saved some food for us. You can see dad finishing up the carving of the turkey. Lots of leftovers - yum!

I swear I hear something gobbling!!!
Did you swallow a whole turkey Uncle Noley?
Here is a picture of us doing the post dinner reading of the shopping ads. Mom says this is a required event before dessert can be served!
Here is Samuel - his first Thanksgiving!
After dinner we got down to the real point of Thanksgiving - - Football and play time. This is me coming out of my cave. "I was hiding."

Uncle Noley makes a good wrestling partner (fresh meat!).

We had pumpkin pie and whipped cream for dessert. Sam got his first tastes of real-people food. And let's just sum up his experience by saying - He LOVED it!!!
Uncle Noley was so tired by the time I got through roughing him up that I had to feed him his dessert.

Finally it was time for bed. Uncle Noley stayed to read to me. All in all - a great day. We hope your day was just as great!

Another Great Day at the Cabin!

Well I had been asking for it . . . and sure enough . . . we got to spend yesterday up at Uncle Noley & Aunt Christy's cabin again. Thanks to mother nature, the weather was warm and the snow had melted enough to let us up the roads. That's not to say there wasn't patches of snow to play in - in the shady spots. We had lots of fun!

Daddy and I cleaned off the porch - some snow had fallen off the roof and hadn't melted yet. I love it when I get to use tools that are just my size!Samuel got to play in the snow for his first time.
He liked it at first . . . . but . . . . . . then when he touched it, he thought it was cold and he wasn't very happy about it!

We played games and ate a yummy lunch. We went for a great hike too!Baby Sam slept through the hike, so Aunt Christy watched him so the rest of us could hike. We saw a herd of elk - cows and calves.
Finally, the topper to a perfect cabin day - indoor smores. Well ok - so I just wanted the roasted marshmallows - talk about tasty! Thanks for another great day! This is a picture of mommy and the boys - this morning on our way to church. It's not often that we're all looking so handsome!Sam Alert: Hi - it's Sam. I had a good week too. I'm really getting to be a confident roller-over. I'm also getting some hair even though you can't see it in pictures too well - it looks like I might be a blondie. Things are good here - my cough is getting better and I hear this is going to be a big week. We'll write more later. Oh - by the way, mommy and daddy say that Utah is ranked #6 today - go Utah!!!

A Day with Dinosaurs!
Dad and Mom took Sam and me to a really cool Dinosaur place this week. We had so much fun! I LOVE dinos. There were so many things to see and touch and do. Daddy even bought a couple of dinos to bring home with me. Here I am hanging with a super big turtle dino, playing in the sand/water table, touching a dino egg, and trying to turn my foot in to dino bones.
Here is baby Sam with a baby dino. This is me, Sam, and mommy next to a dino leg. Some of the dinos were huge!

I'm not comfortable with this! These T-Rex dinos are gigantic! And their teeth are sharp! Here is Sam - he doesn't seem to share my concerns! This is daddy, Sam, and me hanging with some dinos that are just our size! These were probably the biggest dinos in the whole place. Fortunately daddy said they were plant eaters, not meat (or little boy) eaters! Visiting the dinos was a lot of fun!
Other than that, our week was good. Both Sam and I have been a little sick, but we're hanging in and keeping busy.
Mom said I had to post this last picture with the caption - "I'm a safety boy"!Sam Alert: Hi everyone - Sam here. I really enjoyed the dinos too. I like being right in the middle of things! Mom has started me on the piano. She says it's never too early! This is dad and me doing some wrestling. Bring it on daddy!

An Early Thanksgiving

Some of dad's family came in town this week so we got to have an early Thanksgiving with them this weekend. Aunt Jill and cousins Rian and Hayden came to visit.

Everyone got together for a yummy dinner the other night. This is a picture of me and Samuel waiting for mom and dad to get ready to go. And yes, this is me offering to drive the car so we can get there faster! Mommy says this picture scares her . . . I wonder why? It's not like I have a scary Halloween costume on.

We finally made it to Aunt Cathie's house and lots of my cousins came too.
After a yummy dinner we got down to the real important stuff that I actually came for . . . . playing! Cousins Chad and Cameron make excellent wrestling dummies! Let me just put it this way . . . the triptaphan from the turkey DID NOT kick in with us kids! It was fun to spend time with family!Other fun happenings this week included . . . well . . . cold weather . . . this is me all dressed up for going outside. Yes, I have my long johns on!While we were outside doing yard work, daddy gave me a big stick. I decided it was for "making music"!Story time . . . this is how we end every day. Daddy or mommy reads to us. It is one of our favorite parts of any day.
Sam Alert: Howdy everyone! Today was a big day for me. I rolled over all by myself. Mommy put me down to play on my back and the next time she walked by, I was on my tummy. I was extremely pleased with myself! We've been practicing this feat for a few weeks now and we knew I was pretty close. Sure enough - I'm officially a roller-over! By the way, I am also officially a full 6 months old now too. Here is a picture mommy snapped of me this week.
Sometimes I fight my naps and then when you least expect it, the sleepy-tireds catch right up with you!
