Happy Thanksgiving!

Finally - Thanksgiving arrived this week and with it a fantastic dinner and some great company. We started our week with a fun Thanksgiving craft - painting! Amazingly enough this generally doesn't make a huge mess . . . we're very careful, most of the time.

Then on the big Turkey Day - Grandpa and Grandma L. and Uncle Noley & Aunt Christy came over for a fun afternoon. Here we are eating our yummy dinner - we got to help mommy do the cooking. I really thought I wanted Chicken Nuggets but the turkey actually turned out really yummy!

Copper and Samuel are very protective of each other - Copper is really watching out for him! Also - notice mommy in the background getting an early start on her Black Friday shopping.And here I am wrestling. Notice who's on top! I call that "pinned"!Then this weekend we got to decorate inside the house for Christmas. Here we are decorating our little tree. We LOVE this little tree!Sam Alert: Hey everyone . . . so now the doctor thinks I have asthma. Maybe a short term thing after the croup or maybe something more permanent. We'll have to see. But overall I'm feeling a little bit better every day - finally!!!
Have I ever mentioned how much I love music? Really, really, really LOVE music? I do! I play various instruments, sing, and dance. Watch for my new cd and music video to be released sometime in the future!And here I am helping to decorate our Christmas tree. They couldn't hold me back when the tree made its appearance. The Dog Days of November

We like to call this time of year . . . the dog days of November. Halloween is over, Thanksgiving is looming, and Christmas seems so far away. It's getting too chilly to spend lots of time outside playing and we're fighting to keep the germs to a minimum around the house.

So - we're still fitting in some fun things . . . like playing games. Here we are playing Candyland - a super great game if you've never played. You had better know your colors or I will win everytime!

We still had a little snow in our yard in the middle of the week and managed to have a snowball fight. I won, of course!We put up our Christmas lights this weekend too. They look so great! I helped a lot. I am holding the rope for daddy's ladder, this helps him not fall off.Sam helped too. It was pretty chilly - what happened to our warm summer?On Saturday night we decided to have a picnic on the family room floor. We ate sandwiches and watched Toy Story. Super fun!Here we are watching the movie. I do like Woody and Buzz!Sam Alert: Howdy . . . don't tell daddy I'm sneaking one of his Cheetos. I love these things - cheesy yumminess in stick form. We're Bored!

So it was a quiet, fairly boring week around our house. We have experienced what mommy calls "FINTER" - a little Fall, a little Winter - all in the same week.

Busy week - keeps us out of trouble . . . well mostly!

We spent our Monday night with Uncle Noley and Aunt Christy - they cooked a yummy dinner and then we got to play. It was lots of fun.

They sent home some leftovers with us which we ate the next night. Scones and soup - you can't beat that for a tasty dinner! I'm not sure but I think Sam's scone is big enough to eat him!

It was a nice warm week - and we know what that means around our house . . . yard work! Leaves, leaves, and more leaves.Sam and I got to have a picnic lunch on Saturday afternoon in between the general yard cleaning. Not too many more warm afternoons - we love them when we're lucky enough to get them.I've been really getting in to "pretending" and using my imagination. I love my Superman/Batman cape. I was "Superman" and Sam was "Naughtyman". Fun for everyone except maybe for Naughtyman!We had some housework to help with as well. Both Sam and I LOVE helping daddy with the laundry . . . and we're good at it too.Finally - we went up to the cemetary where Grandma June is buried and took her some flowers. Daddy says it has been 12 years since she died. Wish we could have met her - mommy says she would have loved us!Sam Alert: Howdy - so are you ready for this news? My pediatrician used the words "Sam" and "BEEFY" in the same sentence this week!!! Can you believe it? He was referring to the proud fact that I have gained a whole pound in the last 2 1/2 months. He was very happy with mommy and daddy - and me! Of course I'm still at 0 percentile on the chart, but we'll take it. I'd like everyone to call me "beefy" from here on out!I love to help out around the house . . . here I am helping daddy take a garbage can to the curb for trash day. And of course - just one more cute picture of me. You just can't get enough of me, can you! Beefy - out!

Happy Halloween!

What a great week - we've been looking forward to this week for so long! First of all - we got a few extra bonuses this week. We got our first snow and there was still enough to play in after the storm blew away. Not enough to build a snowman, but definately enough for a snowball fight!

Then for another added bonus, Grandpa and Grandma G. decided to stay for a few extra days because of the storm and winds. That meant extra nights for story time and extra fun just hanging out with them. Here I am reading with Grandpa.

Then the Halloween fun started. Our first official Halloween week activity was carving pumpkins. Who doesn't love getting all the pumpkin goo out?Daddy's pumpkin was HUGE and there was a lot of goo! And because his pumpkin was a different species than the usual pumpkin, the goo was really weird . . . it was cool though! Then on Thursday morning we got to go to daddy's school and walk in the Halloween parade. Now that was super fun! Daddy dressed up as a dalmatian. Here are Sam and me in our costumes - Sam was a monster and I was a dragon with a crescent moon on my tummy. (Short story - mom picked up my dragon costume a long time ago, and then I came home a few weeks ago and announced that I wanted to be a crescent moon for Halloween this year - so daddy had the idea to combine the two costumes. I loved it!)Here is monster Sam! Could he be any cuter? I don't think so!Here we are in the parade. I got to hold daddy's leash. Here we are at the end of the parade. My legs are tired! One of the teachers daddy works with - Jenny - dressed up as a pioneer and carried her violin. She brought it in and let me see it . . . and then she let me play it. I loved it! I had just watched Elmo that morning and he was thinking about violins. I told mommy and daddy that I wanted to play the violin when I got older - - - and then that very day I got to play one. Later that night I played my toothpaste tube with my toothbrush - my very own "violin". Then on Friday night we went to a Halloween party over at Aunt Lu's and Uncle Randy's. Easton was there to play with. Lots of other people were there too. We had yummy food and lots of fun! Here is our family picture from the party. Daddy changed his costume to be a doctor for the party. (He said something about it being a "cooler" costume . . . as in not as warm in a room with lots of other people . . . or something like that.)Then finally, on Halloween night we got to go trick or treating. It was the best! We went all around the neighborhood. I practiced saying "trick or treat" all day. Here is a picture of our pumpkins. Sam Alert: Hey everyone . . . so has anyone had Croup before? Apparently mommy did and now so do I . . . and so does everyone else in our house as of today. I spent Friday night/Saturday morning at the Emergency Room trying to breathe. Who knew that could be such a difficult thing to do? The doctors and nurses were incredibly nice. Hopefully daddy and Mason don't get quite as sick as me!

I was feeling a little bit better today and decided to help with some housework. This is me helping daddy vacuum.And this is just a cute picture of me!And yet one more cute picture of me. Happy November!
