Samuel's Party

Daddy and mommy have been promising us that we were going to have a party for Sam this weekend to welcome him to the family. They didn't disappoint! We started by doing some house cleaning and getting things ready. I was a good helper.

Sure enough, various family members started showing up and by Saturday we had enough people around for a big party. Grandpa and Grandma G. and Aunt Jen Jen came up from California. Grandpa and Grandma L., Uncle Noley & Aunt Chris, lots of my cousins, and our neighbors all got together to welcome Sam. This is a picture of daddy with Sam. He says the tie is flipped to avoid a stain . . . . .

After Sam's baby blessing, we had a big lunch. This is a picture of me . . . stains and all!
This is me and some of my cousin's on my mommy's side. I'm still learning names but let's see if I get them all right - Josh, Shalee, Gabriel, Abby, Brenna, Samuel, and me!
I was also a good helper with the clean-up. Aunt Jen snapped this picture of me and Uncle Noley doing the sweeping. (Someday I'm afraid that the proof of all this helping will come back to haunt me somehow . . . as in the parents will expect it from me!)

This is a picture of my Aunt Jen Jen with baby Sam. She had to fly home right away but we're super glad that she came!

This is mommy and Samuel. Even with all the sibling rivalry, I can honestly say . . . Welcome to the family baby Sam!!!

While the cat's away . . . . .

How does that old cliche go?

. . . . the mice will play?
It was a quiet week around our house. First mommy had to go to Idaho for some meetings. Then right after she got home, daddy had to leave and go to California for a math training. He got home late last night. So like I said, it was a pretty quiet week.
I did assume some of the "manly" responsibilities around the house. I absolutely LOVE mowing the lawn (and the flower beds and the sand box...). Mommy says I better continue to enjoy mowing because someday it will be my job! Cool - I think!

Believe it or not, I also like helping with baby Sam.

Some how Sam ended up with lots of balls tossed on him in his swing. I wouldn't have a clue how that happened!

Of course I didn't do it? I don't have any reason for getting Sam back - - nothing about changing up my blog or anything.

A Weekend at Snowbird

Daddy had some meetings at Snowbird (just a short drive up one of our beautiful canyons) this weekend and so we got to go spend the weekend with him. There were so many fun things to do up there - we ended up making a whole weekend of it!

We went swimming (of course) and then watched a movie in our room.
When daddy was in meetings, mommy took us out exploring. We found squirrels and deer. We also found this super cool playground. It had so many great things to play on. Even baby Sam got to swing with me.

After daddy's meetings were over, we got to ride on a big huge Tram all the way to the tip top of the mountains. You could almost see our house clear across the valley from up there. We took a picnic lunch and ate on the top.

Then daddy and I rode the Alpine Slide - we had to take a chairlift up to the top of the slide. I LOVED it! Can you see the look of extreme concentration on my face as we are flying down the slide?

And then, of course, there was the fishing pond. Those of you who know me can guess that . . . . we went fishing. I caught 5 - yes FIVE - fish. I'm getting a little more used to daddy's catch-and-release policy. I didn't cry this time at all. Although - some of the other kids that were there fishing weren't very happy that we let my fish go.

Yes - this is me kissing one of my fish.

And here is my weekly picture of Samuel. I still haven't been able to put my blog back to the way it was - I'm still working on it. Sam sure is talking and laughing lots. I can't imagine what he has to laugh about? It's not like I'm funny or anything!

Go Fish!

I'm officially a fan of fish! This week I got to spend some time fishing and seeing some fish.

By the way . . . For those Mason Memo's fans out there, I'm working on returning my blog to its original state. I don't know what mom has been feeding that little brother of mine, but he's used some fancy computer code I don't know - - yet! I'm coming for you Sam!

First dad, Grandpa L. and I went fishing. It was sunny, hot, and non-productive (at least with regards to catching a fish). We had lots of fun though!

Did someone say ROCKS? Since the fish weren't biting, I did my best to fill up the reservoir with rocks. This is me and Grandpa L.

The best fisherman I know is my daddy! Unfortunately, the fish just weren't in the mood this particular day. We got "skunked"! I thought that meant we stunk - sniff sniff. Oh I guess maybe I do stink - - - diaper please!

The Aqaurium

Mom, dad, Sam and I finally made it to the local aquarium this week. It was small, but they did have some fun fish to see. These are the sting rays. Um - - slimy is the word I would use to describe them!

These are some local trout that the aquarium had on display. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me put my hook in the tank. These are the fish we were trying to catch - now I know where they were hiding . . . sneaky little guys! Just for the record - this is the kind of fish that I did catch in Colorado - - - maybe they sent word that I was going to be coming for them.

This is Daddy, Sam, and me - so this is what it feels like to have people looking through a tank at you all day.

Uncle Noley and Aunt Chris came over the other night. We had fun playing in my big (relatively speaking) swimming pool.

I see you! What is it the side mirrors on mommy's car say - "objects appear closer than they are" or something like that? "SAM ALERT"

I'm too tired to write much tonight - It's tough having my parents wake me up every couple of hours in the middle of the night. You'd think at their age they would be sleeping through the night by now! Oh yeah, I guess you don't sleep well when you get that old.

A Breech of Security!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Who's been messing with my blog?

SAM ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

MOMMMMMMMM !!!!!!!!!!!!

He he he he he he he!
