Wrapping up School

We'll try to lump a bunch of June stuff all together here - at least some of the best parts.

I got to have a friend birthday party on the first Saturday in June.  We wanted to catch everyone while they were still in town before summer vacations.  Mom and dad found this super cool climbing place in Lehi and so we had my friends meet us there for a great party.

Sam got to invite one of his good friends so that he would have someone to play with.  We all loved the climbing!

My friends had a great time climbing and I think we wore them all out by the time their parents came back to pick them up.

We jumped - we climbed - we swung - we ran!

Everyone's favorite thing was the buildings - it was super scary to climb all the way to the top but then you got to jump off.  We all conquered it and it was the best!

My good friend Daniel was the fastest climber of us all.

Here's Sam and his friend having a great time.

It was such a fun day!

We had pizza and eclairs.

June - the month of Mason!

In other events in early June - both Sam and I made it to the finals of the Math Contest at school.
Here is Sam relaxing after he answered a question.  He cracks us up!  (He's right in the middle.)

Sam came in 3rd place for all of second grade.

This is my contest.  All of us kids have termed this the "stress contest".  I'm on the far left.

A close up at me hard at work.  I came in 5th place for fourth grade.

Then, on the second to last day of school we have our Merit Assemblies.
Both Sam and I earned lots of awards.

It was a hard but good year!

And then - finally, the last day of school.  We don't have to wear our uniforms on the last day since it is Field Day.  We had so much fun!  But we already miss it - shhhh, don't say that outloud!

Our good friends invited us to come up to their cabin right after school got out.  It was a blast!  We hiked, we ran, we played, we played some more.  We even slept hard!  No one was awake before 7:30 am which is a true miracle!

So June is now half way over.  We've got lots planned for the summer and can't wait to get started.

Memorial Weekend 2016

We had a wonderful Memorial weekend this year!  We packed up the car and met up with lots of family for a great weekend in Star Valley, WY.

We stopped at quite a few cemeteries along the way to leave flowers for our ancestors.  Dad went to Murray and Sandy city cemeteries before we left.

Then, next up was the city cemetery in Syracuse where Grandpa G's family is buried.

Then we stopped in Woodruff where Grandpa L's family is buried.

The next morning we got up and spent some time at the Star Valley cemeteries.
Grandpa and Grandma G's headstone was just set and it turned out great.

Here is mom with Unky and Aunt Jen Jen.

We took advantage of lots of open space and played and played with our cousins.

And then there is the traditional kid driving on the dirt roads - this is me.  Let's just say it was a good thing dad was close by - - - a fence saw it's life flash in front of it's eyes during my time at the wheel.

Afton city cemetery with cousins Todd and Joslyn.

And here we are all . . . . Relatives everywhere, alive and dead!

We drove up to Jackson and spent some time at the Snow King resort riding the Cowboy Coaster and the scenic chair lift.

I love being tall enough to be my own driver on the coaster!

And Sam should be tall enough next year to drive himself - sometimes a year feels like forever!

And we're off - the whole family . . . .

. . . . except for Aunt Fran who said she is still re-living the nightmare of the California Screamin' roller coaster from our April trip to Disneyland.

One final shot of the whole family.  It was a great weekend.

Sam Alert:  Hey everybody - Sam here.  Have I mentioned that I love being outside?  Ever?  Think back . . . . . I think I probably have, once or twice.

The dandelions (wishing flowers) were in full bloom in Star Valley and I loved picking them and sharing them with everyone.

Here's Mason giggling about something or other.  He snorted some juice and then laughed even harder.

And finally - this is how mom found us one morning - me and my bro all snuggled up reading.  Sometimes we do get a long.  Here is proof!

Ok - Sam out!  Check in again very soon - we promise there are more pictures coming soon!

Spring Football - 2016

It's been another great football season.  Those six weeks go by very quickly - except maybe when it is still cold and windy outside.  We both  had a great season.  We've improved in our aggressiveness and our willingness to get in and attack the ball.

I was a Chief this year and  had a good team!

Here I am playing Quarterback one game.  It was a lot of fun!

I pulled quite a few flags this season.

And I ran the ball quite a few times too.

I smiled a lot this year!

Sam Alert - Hey everyone - - here is my team.  I was a Seahawk this year.

I was both a good spectator for all of Mason's games . . . . .

. . . . . as well as a solid player for my team.

I did my share of flag pulling this season too.

And I wasn't afraid to get in there and get after it!

End of the last game . . . yay football!
