Wrapping Up May

May was a great month!  We kept busy and mostly out of trouble.  I can't believe it is over already.

First - I had my last make-up football game.  It was a good game - I've loved, loved, loved playing football!  I pulled a flag and my coach called me "the most improved player on my team".
That's me in the black long sweat pants.

I learned how to run to where the play is going.

And I learned not to give up.

We had our art festival at school.  Sam did this silhouette water color painting.

And I did some "sun art".  We found this cool sun art paper and after you put the image on it that you want, you take it outside and let it sit in the sun for a few minutes.  Then you bring it back inside and "develop" it with some water and lemon juice.  After it dries, you're left with some cool, vibrant images.

For Memorial Weekend, we decided to stay around the house because of all the rain.
We took flowers out to some of our ancestors at some local cemeteries.
Here we are at Grandma June's grave.

We took flowers to Grandpa L's.

And we headed up north to take flowers to our Great Grandparents and Great Aunts and Uncles and even our Great Great Grandparents.

Finally, we had our school family picnic the other night.  It was so much fun to hang out and play around with all of our friends.
I'm into Pokemon cards lately.  My friend Parker and I had a great game at the park.

And Sam ran and ran and played and played.  We had a great evening!

Sam Alert:  Hey everyone - Sam here.  Dad noticed some fuzz on my face so I decided it was time for some shaving.  I even got a little aftershave on my face afterwards.

Mason got a shave too.  Apparently his was pretty ticklish!

And here I am doing some tree climbing - at least as high as I could go on this big tree.

Ok - Sam out.  Have a great week!

Spring Programs, More Football, and a Birthday Party

Wow - what a week!  We've been busy and having sooooo much fun!

First up - our spring programs.  My program was first.  Enjoy a couple of videos

Give a Little Whistle

Take Me Home Country Road

High Hopes

And America Is

Here I am with my young author story.  I won 3rd place for it.  It is called "Pirate Pig Saves His Crew".  It's a great story!

And here I am with my wonderful teacher - Mrs. Lott.  She has been an amazing teacher - what a great year I've had!

One more picture of me - I enjoyed reading some of my friend's young author stories.

And then it was Sam's program.  His theme was "Ain't it great to be crazy".

First video - his speaking part . . . a fun knock knock joke.

Then It's a Grand Old Flag/Yankee Doodle Boy medley.  You'll never guess who "Uncle Sam" is!

Purple People Eater

I'm My Own Grandpa

Here he is with his young author story - It is called The Great Easter Egg Hunt.

And here he is with his teacher Mrs. Shaw.

Then we played some football.  I had a weeknight game.
I'm loving football - it's such a great sport to play.
I'm in the blue shorts.

I'm learning to be in the right places at the right time.

Then I had an early morning Saturday game.  I love playing defense and I ran the ball too.  I also got to do a kick off and it was great.
I'm in the orange long sleeves.

Then Sam had a game.  We were lucky to play between the raindrops
He played center for most of the game. He's there in the green long sleeves.

The coach said he was the best "snapper" on the team.

He did some running, some quarterbacking, and some great blocking too.

Here we both are - We have really really loved our first football season.

Sam Alert:  Hey everyone - Sam here.  I got to have my first friend birthday party.  It was way more fun than I ever imagined it would be!
I had my party at the Museum of Ancient Life - also known as the Dinosaur Museum.

We spent a little time enjoying the exhibits.

Here I am with everyone - my good friends from school (Boston, Prestley, and Aden) were able to come.  I also invited two of Mason's friends that are also my friends (Carson and Ben).

We got to do a fossil casting.

And we did some finger painting.

Then we went exploring more of the exhibits.

Our party hosts were great!

We played in the sand/water tables.

And we weighed ourselves - we weigh as much as a pretty good sized dino.

After eating some pizza, we got to have chocolate cupcakes.  And a little "Happy Birthday" song thrown in there too.

 Then I opened presents.

Dad and mom gave me a wand - a real wand from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
I LOVE IT!

Here's Mason with Carson and Ben.

And here I am with Prestley, Boston, and Aden.

And enjoy a couple of cute pics of me from football.
It's spring in Utah - warm one day . . . .

. . . . cold and rainy the next.

Ok - Sam out - have a great week.

Birthday and More Football!

We've had a great couple of weeks - busy and eventful!

First - just a couple of fun pictures - me, eating my morning banana.  Nothing better than a yummy breakfast with a perfectly ripe banana.

Next - Sam made a countdown chain for the end of school.  Boy, there's still quite a few days to go it seems!

Then there were some football games.  We each had one weeknight game and we both had some Saturday games.  Our last Saturday games got rained out so we'll put in lots of pics from the previous week.

Here I am playing running back.

I love playing some defense!

Here's Sam getting ready for the play to start.

He was an animal in his last game.  He played almost every position, ran for two first downs, and "tackled" two runners.

He's really starting to understand the game and enjoy playing.

Here he is running the ball.

And here he is playing center.

And you should see the smile on this face - he just saved a touchdown by the other team by pulling the runner's flag.

Then - it was Sam's birthday.  He's 7 years old - - how crazy is that!  He got to open my present in the morning right before we headed out to school.

Here he is with his birthday decorations.

He chose a birthday dinner at our favorite local Mexican restaurant.  We've made friends with the owner over the years and she treated him right on his day.

Then he got to have his birthday cake - an ice cream cake.

And he got his annual growth chart measurement.  He's growing tall - still a bit small for his age, but certainly growing.

And finally he got to open presents from mom and dad.

Sam really, really wanted a skateboard this year - and so he got one.  Unfortunately, it rained all week long so he hasn't gotten to take it outside for a spin, yet.

And no birthday is complete in our house without the traditional picture - in this case, a Sam Sandwich.

We spent some rainy time inside playing.  We're still loving our demolition labs that Santa brought us.

Finally today, the sun came out - so we headed out to visit Grandma L.  We also stopped at the cemeteries to visit Grandpa L.

And we took some flowers to Grandma June.

Finally - a picture with mom for Mother's Day.

Sam Alert:  Hey everyone - Sam here.  I had a great birthday, and I still have some more celebrating to do this coming week.  More to come on that front next time.

Here's a picture with my favorite dad and me.  I was taking a break from playing football.  It was a great game!

And here's a picture with my favorite mom and me.

Ok - Sam out.  Have a great week!
