You Know You're Getting Older When . . .

Now realize that I just turned two years old. This being said, I didn't realize what that means. Since my recent birthday I have:

. . . Had my first Dentist appointment - no picture. But I did ride on his cool chair and let him look in my mouth and count my teeth.

. . . Actually used the big boy potty - I was even a pretty good aimer for my first time. No picture with this one either - I wouldn't allow it!

. . . Started sleeping in a big boy bed - I gave all my baby stuff to Samuel.

. . . Learned how to drive - granted it's only a 4-wheeler, but you know a truck is just around the corner!

. . . Fallen asleep while eating - believe it or not, this has NEVER happened to me before!

. . . Got eaten alive by bugs - ok, no lasting scars. It's just a cool lady bug and it really tickled. I even risked my life saving it from drowning in my frog pool. I was ready to give mouth to bug resuscitation but dad stopped me. I think he was afraid I was going to eat it like a frog. Hmm, I wonder if it would taste like chicken.

And finally, you know you're getting older when . . . swimming with your kid brother is fun!

Happy 4th of July!!!

We had a fantastic 4th of July. It was the annual neighborhood party - all day long. We started with breakfast which included riding on the teeter totter (over and over again). Then I grabbed a nap. Then came the pool party. Easton and I had two pools to play in - of course the ladies had their "red-neck" pool party using our big wading pool, but we worked around them. Plus my cool Frog Pool kept us plenty entertained. Then we had dinner. Grandpa and Grandma L came over and joined us. Finally we lit some fireworks. I got to hold my first sparkler - who knew they were hot? All in all, I would have to say that a great time was had by all! Happy Birthday USA!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

So yesterday (Tuesday) was my birthday. I am two years old now. Boy, that went by quickly!

Daddy says I don't walk any more - instead I RUN everywhere. Mommy says that I'm a super great talker - believe me, I know words that they don't even think I know!

Little Einsteins have taught me that birthdays consist of three important things - cake, presents, and most important - balloons.

Here are some pictures from my birthday.

This is my birthday cake - I helped make it. As usual I quite enjoyed licking the bowl (I did save some batter for daddy though). This is me eating my birthday cake - and ice cream. Yum!
Birthday balloons . . . the very best part of my day!
My friend Easton came over to celebrate and play with me. We had so much fun! Also in the picture is my super fun new slide and climbing "thing". I could spend hours and hours of each day playing on this.
Here we are sliding down . . . .
Here we are swinging . . . . Opening presents . . . . Thanks everyone!

Grandpa and Grandma L gave me a horsey and a barn. More hours of fun! Just a side-note: the horse went to bed with me last night. At least he was a quiet sleeper!
And finally, proof positive that the balloons really were the best part of my birthday . . . . here I am playing with them the day after. Balloons really are the "gift" that keeps on giving!

Fun and Games!

I love summer - warm days, lots of sunshine and fun things to do! Here are some pictures of the fun things I have been up to the last week . . . .

Playing with the family.

Swimming in the backyard.

Painting with Daddy.

Practicing the piano - can you say Mozart?

And spending time with baby Sam.

Flowers for my Favorite Gal
Mommy of course!

Digital Camera Fun

Happy Father's Day!

Samuel and I have the best Daddy ever! He plays with us and teaches us lots of fun things! We LOVE him!

And because I missed posting something about Mother's Day, here is a picture of me and my Mom. We were playing Bubbles the other afternoon. Talk about fun!

Today we went up to Uncle Nolan's cabin. It was so much fun - I cried when we had to leave. I played in the Moose's water trough. I got so wet they had to throw my clothes in the dryer. And that was before dinner.

Then we went hiking. They all had to move pretty fast to keep up with me! Even baby Sam went along for his first hike. He slept nearly the whole way - not me.

I found a cool log and took a quick break - while everyone caught up.

Here are the Longhurst men - three generations. Happy Father's Day to all the men in my life!

This is a me and Samuel - I'm sure getting the hang of this Big Brother thing.

Of course, here is the obligatory weekly portrait of Sam so everyone can see how much he is growing. Mommy says he's not our little baby anymore!

And finally, here is a great picture of the family - even Copper.

Animal Noises?

So I have been working hard the last few months, practicing new things... like animal noises. Ever wonder what certain animals sound like? Well play this video and I will share my great knowledge with you!

And now - not related to animals at all (or at least I don't think so) . . . . Here are some recent pictures of Samuel with our Grandparents.
Grandpa and Grandma L.

Grandpa and Grandma G.

And lastly, I couldn't resist adding this picture of me and my daddy. We found a "snake" in the yard while we were working and scared mommy with it. I can't believe she could hold the camera steady enough to take this picture!

Learning Something New . . .

Boy is it fun to learn new things! This week I have learned lots of new things.

Example #1 - I learned how to take pictures with the digital camera all by myself. This is my first picture - I like to call it "My Foot". I think it is pretty self-explanatory!

Example #2 - I learned how to strip wallpaper this week. Ok - so my first job was hauling the "downed" wallpaper to the trashcan.

But then daddy decided to trust me with actually doing the real work. Ripping stuff up - - - hum, more like "work" that is really just having fun!

Example #3 - More yard work. Does the yard work ever end? So this is really just a cute picture of me supervising daddy doing the yard work. But I did get in and help.

And this last picture of me is just too darn cute (as mommy would say) to not post. These are my fun new puppy slippers that Grandpa and Grandma G gave me. They are here visiting - I'm teaching them all my fun games and how to play with my toys.

And finally, mommy makes me post at least one new picture of Samuel every week. So here is the picture for this week. Sam is getting big and doing well!

Happy Memorial Weekend!

I love a nice, long weekend. Unfortunately we don't get nearly as much accomplished as we think we will. We spent part of today out and about taking flowers to some cemetaries. We went to Sandy and Syracuse, but didn't make it to Woodruff and Star Valley this year. It is so cool to see all the pretty flowers and flags flying at the cemetaries and to hear stories about my ancestors.

I love being the boss and leading daddy around! I love to make him watch the birdies in our backyard with me.

And of course, no day is complete without wrestling! Yes, of course I always win! Who could withstand my "death flop" from couch-level! If you don't want the game to end with daddy crying (and mommy laughing), be careful not to land south of the equator, as daddy says!!!

I'm looking toward the future by training Samuel how to do the laundry. I figure this should free up quite a bit of quality play-time. I need to re-think my teaching strategy however, because all Sam did was sleep on the job! At this rate, he won't be taking over any time soon.

Shhhhhhh - don't tell Mason, but I'm keeping an eye on him! I think he's kinda sneeky, trying to pawn off his chores on me. I was only pretending to sleep . . . . . . I wasn't born yesterday!

I Love Being Outside!!!

Warm weather = fun in the sun. I love being outside - work, play, exploring, whatever. It has been a nice, warm week and I have sure enjoyed it. This is me hunting for some bugs - very interesting!

This is me and daddy getting ready to mow the lawn.

This is me taking a well-earned snack break.

And here are a couple of pictures of me and my new little bro . . . I'm kind of getting used to having baby Samuel around - he's growing on me. Mommy says we have to keep him and for the most part I'm ok with that.

And here is a picture of baby Sam. He's growing up already!
