SUMMER VACATION 07, Part 1 1/2

I love hiking in the woods. But I wish somebody would move this big head so I could see where in the heck we are going!

Nothing like hanging out with mom, running water, and beautiful flowers. But my mommy is prettier than the flowers! P.S. - - Will somebody make sure my mommy reads this part.

Nothing like lunch on the mountain - animal crackers and cheese! It fills a little guy's tummy!

Wow - I can see forever from this thingy. They called it a granoly . . . or a gondoly . . . or something like that. It sure goes up high.

I didn't want to, but daddy made me kiss a moose. I'm sorry but it kind of looks like someone I know.

SUMMER VACATION 07, Part 2
My FRIENDS even came to meet me on the mountain! We rode some rides! This is my Auntie Lou holding me.

Here is Uncle Randy and the Bart Man after they flew down the hill!
They were a streak of color.

Here comes Auntie Lou!

Here comes Mom! I could hear mom and Auntie Lou screaming from half way down the mountain. I'm not sure who was screaming the loudest. I wanted to go too but they said that at 100 miles per hour, a bumble bee would leave a dent in my forehead the size of MARS. I don't know what "Mars" is but it didn't sound good, so I decided the carousel would have to do.

This is ME of course! The cutest, but don't tell the girls I said that or they might not let me go with them agian.

What a Week, part 1:

Who knew a little guy could keep so busy? I had a really fun week - got to do lots of new things.

First - I helped daddy around the house with some repairs. The drill was almost as big as me.

Then we went up to my uncle's cabin. We went for some hikes and saw some deer and chipmunks.
Then I played in a HUGE pile of rocks. Mom says that the desire to throw rocks must be part of a little boy's genetic make-up.
What a Week, part 2:

My Grandma and Grandpa G. came to visit and I got to play with them. I taught Grandma how to crawl . . . she did very well!

And I taught Grandpa how to go up the stairs. He did very well too!
Finally I took a little time out for myself - Otter Pops with Daddy on the hammock. Now that's life!

The family . . . . isn't it great to be part of a family! Gotta love em!

A Shout Out for Napping

I just wanted to give a plug for napping -- The parents will agree that I might fight it from time to time, but I must say that it is the BEST!

This is me on my Uncle Noly - shhhhh, we're both napping. His belly is SOFT! I think it is better than my crib mattress! I like it! This is my most favorite sleeping position - - legs crossed, arms behind the head. AHHHH!!!

The three point sleeping position - while highly tricky, is most satisfying. This is my second favorite sleeping position. And just a warning for you begginers, this is not for amateurs!

My Newest Jobs:
Now that I am officially one year old, Mom has decided that I need to start playing the piano so that I can earn my keep by making some money at the local clubs. (I especially enjoy playing the keys with my feet - daddy's idea!)

Long-haul trucking . . . a lot of hard work, but overall not a bad gig as it pays pretty well.

Swimming sponsors - look out here I come! I quite enjoy swimming now (they finally got some warmer water in that thing - thanks to the sun). Copper is a pretty good teacher too! He's got me doing my laps every afternoon. 2022 Olympics here I come!

Horticulture & Gardening . . . I love working out in the yard. But these rocks are starting to get pretty heavy and it's hot out here too! They say it doesn't pay all that well either - hum . . . .
The worst job though has gotta be testing dog breath mints. Trust me, none of them work!

Happy Independence Day!

Today was the 4th of July - lots of sparkling fire things that went bang. Surprisingly I actually enjoyed watching them. There was lots of food and lots of people to talk to. Quite a fun day!

I also got to play with some new toys (from the neighbor kids) and got dirtier than I have ever been before. I loved it - but mom wasn't too happy. The parents made sure I had a nice long bath tonight! Oh well, I know where there is more dirt!

This entry is dedicated to my mom . . . .

I don't know what it says on my shirt, but mom sure is smiley and happy when I wear it! Or maybe it's my sparkling personality that makes her smile!

Ahhh, summer days in the swing - hanging out with the gang.

Who needs expensive psycho-babble whats-its to straighten out a little guy's head . . . all you need is a good swing. It's relaxing and a whole lot of fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

I can't believe it . . . one year old. I'm growing up fast! I had a great birthday - lots of presents, a cupcake (I liked the frosting, but I'm not too fond of the cake - yet), and a birthday hat! Funny - I don't feel older, but the doctor said I was when I went in for my shots today.

Oh - no gray hairs yet, but boy you should see mom and dad's gray hairs! Shhhh, mom colors hers so you can't see them - don't tell! They blame their gray hair all on me, but I'm pretty sure they're from Copper!

Around the House . . . .

Just a couple of super cute pictures of me hanging out around the house.

First - I discovered flowers the other night. Mommy's marigolds will never be the same - yum - the red petals taste the best!

Second - nothing like putting glacier water in the pool! I think my diaper has ice in it. My parents need to upgrade and get me a heated pool before I'll dip a toe back in - or better yet, let's get a hot tub!

Work, work, work . . . .

Now that I'm mobile, my parents have put me to work.

Laundry! (Come on - who's dirty underwear are these - and don't tell me they're Copper's!)

Dusting! (Can't anyone see this?)
Dishes! (I don't even get to eat off of these!)

Aren't there child-labor laws or something? Copper and I are running away - as soon as one of us figures out how to open the darn door!

My first Memorial Day and my first ride on the Hammock! Mom says it's not supposed to bounce, but when the dog jumps on, ooh wee do we fly!

This is me and my dad . . . hanging out in the backyard waiting for some bbq!

This is me and my mommy dressed up in our Sunday best. Mom plays the piano and I flirt with all the laaaaadies! Needless to say, I'm a big hit!

Who me???!!!! NEVER!!!

So mommy and daddy have been wondering why Copper's diet isn't working anymore . . . I wouldn't know ANYTHING about that!!!

I LOVE being mobile - - - I can just crawl right over to my toy box and pick out what I want to play with - - - and then I can throw it all over mommy's nice clean living room! It's a good thing mommy's mobile! (At least most of the time . . . he he he.)

FOOTBALL . . . Need I say more! Mommy and Daddy took me to my first football game last night. There was so much to see . . . and hear! We had great seats thanks to mommy's friends, Linda and Mark.
Guess what . . . the Utah Blaze's mascot is a dalmation named Chief. He looks almost exactly like my dog, Copper!

Even at a football game, a guy's gotta eat! No popcorn and nachos for me. I drink the hard stuff!

They call this thing I sleep in a crib . . . it feels like JAIL to me! (Mommy and daddy hope this isn't a sign of things to come!)

So . . . we were supposed to go to the zoo ages ago and we still haven't gone. I decided to adopt this cute little "kitty" that wandered by. It's soft and cuddly and doesn't run too fast. Sometimes it smells a little bit though! (But Dad says not as stinky as me!)

Note the long hair . . . . Mom cut it today. My very first hair cut! She tried cutting it a week or so ago. She got the scissors up to my hair but couldn't do it. I guess she got brave today. Below is my "after" photo! I think I look even more grown up with a cool haircut!

Heeeeyyyyyyy - who put in the trap door?

This moving yourself around is not all it's cracked up to be! Nose dives are my best move! A little rug burn on the old face is all in a day's work. . . But it sure makes my parents laugh!

Going downstairs is hard on the nose . . . going upstairs (with my toys) is fun, fun, fun!!!
I always post pictures of me and daddy - I thought it was time to put one up of me and mommy. You can take the kids out of California, but you can't take the California out of the kids!
