The Final Countdown

This week marked the final countdown to the real end of summer.  We start back to school tomorrow and we've been looking forward to that for quite a few weeks now.  But this last week was full of good times and school preparations.

 

First up - we went to work with mom a couple of days this week.  We lasted 4-5 hours at a time and did very very well!

 

We also got some great play-around-the-house time in this week.  Nothing beats playing with our trains and train sets!!!

 

We started working at getting up earlier and going to bed earlier.  We also picked out things we wanted to have for school breakfasts and lunches.  Mom made these amazing pancakes for us one morning.  Colorful . . . and tasty!

 

We did some house and yard work.  It's finally started to cool down now and we are back to loving being outside.  It seems like we've hardly spent any time out in the yard this summer - too darn hot!

 

We did another art project with mom - a snake in the grass.  

 

And here come the pictures from mom's cell phone - sorry they just won't load right into blogger even through we've tried to correct them.

 

We are loving our swimming lessons and a few minutes of free play after the lesson is through.

 

We finally managed to fit in a much needed trip to Costco with the family.  Check out this 5 pound "tub" of our most favorite thing in the world - Nutella!!!  Dad said we should buy it, mom chickened out.  

 

 And we went to our school orientation.  We met our teachers, found our desks. We are very much looking forward to a new school year.  After orientation we went to a Farmer's Market and what do you know - - in addition to some super yummy fruits and vegetables, we found the "Waffle-Love" truck and had these super wonderful waffles.

And here I am eating those super colorful pancakes mom made for us.  She made monster pancakes and then Mason and I would eat around the monster.  But truly, the most important thing about this picture isn't the monster or the colorful pancake.  It's the super great pose I'm sporting for the camera.
