May Happenings

May was a good month - so. much. fun!

We started with Sam's birthday.  He turned nine this year.  How is that possible?

He's growing taller every year.

He chose his birthday dinner - sushi!
Then his birthday cake was chocolate chip with chocolate frosting.
Yum!

His birthday family activity was mini golf with Uncle Noley.

Then we hit a Bees baseball game.  It was a lot of fun!

Here we are on Mother's day taking flowers to Grandma June's grave.

Spring programs at school were next in the month.  Here is Sam with his 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Abbott.

And here he is with one of his very best friends, Charlotte.

Sam with his Computer Fair project - top row.

Sam with his art project - top row.

And Sam with his Young Author project.

Then it was my turn for the spring program.

I won a silver medal for my Young Author project - a thrilling tale about a knight and a dragon.

And this is me with my fabulous 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Johnson.

I finished up football season.  It was a tough season but we had lots of fun!

I loved having dad as one of my coaches again this season.

Memorial weekend came next.  We headed out for Star Valley Wyoming for the weekend.
One of our favorite things to do is to stop by our ancestor's cemeteries and bring flowers.
Stop #1 - Sandy Utah for Grandma June.

Stop #2 - Murray Utah for Grandpa L.

His grave is near these cool rocks - we love to jump off of them.

Stop #3 - Syracuse Utah for Grandpa G's family.

Stop #4 - Woodruff Utah for Grandpa L's family.

Stop #5 - Afton Wyoming for the Cassity's. Sorry, no picture.
When we hit Wyoming, we get to drive the car.  Here's Sam driving us to . . . . .

. . . . .stop #6 - Etna Wyoming for Grandpa and Grandma G and Grandma G's family.

We met up with lots of family in Etna.  It's always a big party with everyone there.
We played some football with our cousins.

Sam enjoyed the super giant bubbles.  He's in the bright orange shirt.

And more football.

I got to drive us from the cemetery back to the main road - such a serious driver!

We stayed at a fabulous cabin at the south end of Afton.  It's one of our new favorite places.

We tried driving up to Cottonwood Lake but there was still too much snow on the road right near the top of the canyon.  So we stopped and threw rocks into the river.

We hiked to Intermittent Springs.

We stopped at the log bridge to cross it.  I got a bit wet as I was coming back across but Sam made it across dry.

It was a beautiful day!

We found a nice shady spot in a quiet spot of the river for a picnic lunch.

Ah - Wyoming, how we love you!

We ended the month with a Broadway play in downtown Salt Lake - Cinderella.  It was excellent!

I'm about ready to graduate from Cub Scouts - in a few more weeks.  Here I am receiving my religious knot and some other awards.

And last but not least - we're still going strong with horse lessons.  We did some street riding last week.  Here I am on my trusty steed Duke.

And here's Sam riding Big Jake.

Thanks for making it all the way to the end of May.  We'll be back for a June wrap up in a few weeks.

Winter into Spring 2017

A long lost hello to any of our faithful readers still out there.  Mom has not been helpful at assisting us in keeping the blog up to date.  But we're going to attempt to play more catch up and show you some of our top highlights from the last few months.

First up was dad's birthday.  He's like 106 or something now!

We had a few warm days to play outside during winter - scooters are fun any time of year!

We kept up with horse lessons even through the winter. Who says you can't ride a horse in a snowstorm!

We had lots of fun just playing around the house.

Science fair projects were finished and presented.

Here's Sam teaching some of the younger kids about his project.

And my project was about geodes this year.  I had a lot of fun doing it.

I won an award for Excellence in Math - I placed in the top percentage of all students across the nation taking the AMC 8 Math test.  I got to go to a recognition ceremony at BYU one very cold winter evening.  It was fun.

And I met up with one of my best friends there - Daniel.  He is at a different campus this year so I don't get to see him often.

Here are the boys - all dressed up and looking amazing.

Sam and I both made it in the Speech Festival finals.

And we finally made it to spring break 2017.  We decided to go against the trend of going somewhere sunny and warm - so we decided on a week in Jackson Wyoming - our favorite place on earth.

As always we stopped at the cemeteries to visit graves and Sam and I got drive.  My legs are long enough to do the pedals too.

There was still plenty of snow in the Tetons but the days were pleasant.

Snake River Overlook.

Oxbow Bend.

We played football in the backyard of our condo.  We were literally the only ones there for most of the week.

We hiked, we saw tons of animals, we had lots and lots and lots of snowball fights.  It was a super great spring break!

Then came Easter.  We had our traditional Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma L's with all our Corser cousins.  We LOVE this event!

Of course, we all played a great game of football after the egg hunt and lunch.

Grandma L is a great hostess!

We dyed eggs with daddy.

And then it was Easter morning.  The Easter Bunny was good to us - as always.

Here we are with mom after church on Easter Sunday.

Our new cat has made herself at home - and we love her.  She loves to start her night sleeping with Sam.  Can you find here in all the stuffed animals?

I have started football season again.  I'm having fun and dad is my coach again - so it will be a great spring!

And finally - I was selected to be in my school's regional Honors Chorale.  We practiced for weeks and weeks and had performances just last week.  We were amazing.  As soon as we have some time, we'll upload a few videos for you all to watch.  And yes - I got a new suit for the occasions - don't I look handsome!

OK - we promise not to wait so long before we blog again.  Please keep checking back - we are out here and having lots of fun.  More to come!
